Add/Update Information: Abdul Hadi Mubarak - Director

A film director, who contributed to shaping the Iraqi film industry. He participated as a clapper loader in the first Iraqi feature film, which was made in 1948, directed by the French director Andre Schoutan, and starred Ibrahim Jalal, after which he worked as a singing extra in the movie Laila in Iraq, in the late forties. He was among the founders of the first television establishment in the Middle East and the Arab world, the Iraq TV, in 1956. He directed several films, the first of which was the movie Bride of the Euphrates (1957), and Badea, in the late eighties, as well as the movie Because of Love. He held the position of Director General of Kirkuk TV in the sixties. He also directed several series, most notably Her Eyes and the Stars, and The Man Who Love. He chaired the Union of Iraqi Cinema Professionals and worked as a secretary in the Iraqi Artists Syndicate after the fall of the previous regime. He died at the age of 77.
