Maryam Nouhy |
Lebanese director born on 15 June 1927 in Tripoli. He studied at the Freres school in Tripoli and studied architecture for the first 2 years via mail with the American School of Chicago, and two years later, he travelled to Chicago to finish his studies. Afterwards, he moved to LA which was a turning point in his career because he decided to quit architecture and pursue a career in film directing, which he studied at UCLA. He trained in Hollywood and Paris. He returned to Lebanon and directed his first film Vers I'inconnu (1957) which highlighted the struggles of Lebanese immigrants to America and Brazil. Other works of his include One Man Wanted (1973) and The Small Stranger (1961).
