A Kuwaiti poet and author, who was born in 1952. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Kuwait University in 1974 and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Hartford in 1980. He held several positions, including Administrative Researcher in the Secretariat of the Municipal Council from 1974 to 1980, Assistant Secretary of the Municipal Council from 1980 to 1983, Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs in the National Assembly from 1983 to 1993, and Secretary-General of the National Assembly from 1993 to 2007. In 2007, he was appointed Minister of Transportation and Minister of State for the National Assembly until 2008. In 2012, he was appointed Minister of Justice and Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs until 2013. He published many books, including collections of poetry, the most notable of which are "For the Nation, Not for Revenge," "Voluntary Fasting," and "The Description of Heaven in the Qur’an and Sunnah." He also worked in the press, as he had a daily poetry column called Hewar Rhymes in the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Watan and the Qatari newspaper Al Sharq. He is known for the series Lion of the Island and Maryam's Brothers.
