American actress who was born and raised in New Orleans’ 8th Ward on St. Claude Avenue. At the age of twelve, she played Joy Strong in the 2012 film, Beasts of the Southern Wild. After graduating from high school, she worked as a restaurant hostess and devoted herself to raising her daughter Dee. She was shot and killed in her hometown of Louisiana on November 27, 2021. |
