The novel's success led to its translation into English, Italian and French, and it was later adapted into a television series with the same name that starred Hend Sabry. His second novel Diamond Dust was published in 2010, and was also translated into several languages. His most successful work to date was his third novel titled The Blue Elephant, published in 2012, and won first place in Cairo Book Fair's sales for the year 2013, and was later adapted into the 2014 film, directed by Marwan Hamed and starring Karim Abdulaziz, for which Mourad also wrote the screenplay and was a box office hit.
