Charlyne Yi is an American actress, stand-up comedian, writer, musician and artist. After graduating from the University of California Riverside, she launched into her career as a comedian. Yi's band The Glass Beef released their debut album in 2006. Her breakout film role was in Judd Apatow's "Knocked Up" (2007) playing a memorably bizarre stoner chick. She made her screenwriting debut with "Paper Heart," a quasi-documentary about a budding romance. She produced, wrote and starred in the film opposite Michael Cera. It won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. In 2011, she landed a recurring role on the popular medical drama "House" alongside Hugh Laurie. She plays one of the doctors on his team. Her other film credits include "Cloverfield" (2008), "Semi-Pro" (2008) and "This Is 40" (2012).
