Among his most notable works are The Wizard (1927) and Behind the Headlines (1937). He was arrested on charges of espionage in Vienna, Austria, with his wife, Vera Sisson, and two other British citizens, allegedly for photographing military devices, and they were released shortly after. He died on May 31, 1953, in Los Angeles, California, USA.
