An Egyptian writer and journalist, born in Alexandria. His father was the writer Muhammad Mufid Al Shoubashi, and his sister was actress Faten Al Shoubashi. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, Cairo University, and worked as a lawyer for a period, then a journalist in the...Read more translation department of the Middle East News Agency. He was imprisoned because of his leftist tendencies, then he was forced to travel to France in 1972, where he worked for the Agence France-Presse for a quarter of a century, covering many international events. He was director of the agency's office in Turkey for two years (1987-1989). He's known for Love and Price (1970). He died on 16 March 2001.
