He co-wrote "Resting Place" from Spirit Trail with his older brother. and co-wrote "Sunlight Moon" from Spirit Trail with his twin sons, Keith and Russell. He has been nominated for ten Grammy Awards and won four, among which was Best New Artist in 1987.
