A British writer, born in London, UK. He attended the University of Southampton in England, where he studied English literature. He then began working at the Royal Court Theatre in London as assistant electrician, while his work coincided with his entry into the field of playwriting. His 1977 play, Like Dolls or Angels, won the Sunday Times Playwriting Award. He also worked as Literary Associate at the Royal Court Theatre for 11 years. He's known for Diana (2013) and The Libertine (2004).
