He performed shows in cafes and weddings in Bahary streets. He became a famous Alexandrian dancer and a performer of Alexandrian folklore dancing. He performed with Sheikh Amin, the famous Alexandrian folk singer. At the opening of the El Salam Theater in Sidi Gaber, Alexandria, President Sadat requested the presence of Halal and Sheikh Amin, and the two appeared together in the movie Abu Ahmed (1959).
