An Egyptian actor who is known by the name Halal Aaleh. His father was a grocer in Bahary, Alexandria. Halal used to dance while holding white weapons (daggers and knives), raise bamboo chairs with his teeth, and threw them in the air. He used to wear the costume of local fishermen. He performed shows in cafes and weddings in Bahary streets. He became a famous Alexandrian dancer and a performer of Alexandrian folklore dancing. He performed with Sheikh Amin, the famous Alexandrian folk singer. At the opening of the El Salam Theater in Sidi Gaber, Alexandria, President Sadat requested the presence of Halal and Sheikh Amin, and the two appeared together in the movie Abu Ahmed (1959).
