An Egyptian actor who is known by the name, Halal Aleh. His father was a grocer in Bahri, Alexandria, Ras al-Tin neighborhood. Halal used to dance while holding white weapons (daggers and knives), raise bamboo chairs with his teeth and threw them in the air. He used to wear the uniform of marine fishermen. He performed shows in cafes and weddings in Bahary streets. He became a famous Alexandrian dancer and a performer of Alexandrian folklore. He co-worked with Sheikh Amin, the famous Alexandrian folk singer. At the opening of the Peace Theater in Sidi Gaber in Alexandria, President Sadat requested the presence of Halal and Sheikh Amin, and the two appeared together in the movie Abu Ahmed (1959).
