An Albanian novelist, screenwriter, and documentary film producer, born in 1960 in Durrës, Albania. At age 16, she started hosting TV shows. In 1984, she graduated in English and Albanian literature from the State University of Tirana. She left her country in 1988, and settled in Switzerland. She published her first novel in 1997. She has published seven novels and two collections of short stories, written several screenplays, and directed a series of documentaries for Swiss Public Broadcasting Corp. Her novels have been translated into several languages. Her works include Sworn Virgin (2015) and Roulette (2007).
