A Chilean director, born in Santiago, Chile. He studied film direction at the Film Institute in Madrid, Spain and graduated in 1969. During the period of rule of the leftist coalition led by Salvador Allende in 1970 and until 1973, he took to the streets to film the events in documentaries, and among these works are El primer año (1972) and La respuesta de octubre (1972). He then left Chile and settled in France, where he continued to direct feature films and documentaries.
