• American actor who was born on July 15, 1925 in Hackensack, New Jersey, USA as Eugene Joseph Carey. He married Maureen Peppler (1949-1972) and divorced her after they got 3...Read more children. Then, he married Colleen Welch from 1976 till his death, and got with her 2 children. Among his most important works: Calamity Jane (1953), Mister Roberts (1955), and Laredo (TV Series 1965–1967). He studied drama at the University of Miami where he met his girlfriend Maureen Peppler. He served in the US Navy in World War II in the Korean War sector. He began his artistic activity in the fifties in western films and war and crime stories, but he did not achieve stardom until the seventies. He joined television in the late fifties. He died on February 6, 2009 (age 83) in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA.
