| Salma El-Sharkawy |
An American screenwriter, director, and producer. He was born in Indiana, United States, and is of Swedish origin. He attended Jesse Bonstelle's drama school, worked in radio, and grew up in a Detroit, Michigan, area. He wrote numerous plays and was employed at WXYZ, a radio station. After that, he relocated to New York, where he co-wrote A Night at the Opera (1935) with the Marx Brothers, which marked a turning point in his career. He collaborated with them again in the film A Day at the Races (1937). He also participated in a number of various works, and he died in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California. |
