After that, he relocated to New York, where he co-wrote A Night at the Opera (1935) with the Marx Brothers, which marked a turning point in his career. He collaborated with them again in the film A Day at the Races (1937). He also participated in a number of various works, and he died in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California.
