Among his awards and nominations, he received a Primetime Emmy Award, a Saturn Award, and was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for Cleopatra in 1964. He was also honored with a Star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. He passed away on October 3, 1998 in Studio City, Los Angeles, USA.
