A French director of Algerian origin, born in the French city of Sèvres. He obtained a BA in Sociology from Paris Nanterre University before becoming involved in directing by entering the International Institute of Image and Sound ( 3iS ). His first experience in the world of directing was through his graduation film De L’autre côté. He has several documentaries that have won several awards and toured various international film festivals, most notably his documentary Quelques miettes pour les oiseaux (2005), which won the Critics’ Award at the Montpellier Mediterranean Film Festival in France. The French-Algerian director also directed his short film En terrain connu (2013). His first cinematic debut by directing his feature film Adieu Gary, which won the Critics’ Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
