Flynn then worked as a script supervisor for the film West Side Story, second assistant director on the musical Kid Galahad, and the romantic film Two for the Seesaw, then worked as first assistant director on The Great Escape. He also founded a low-budget film production company and directed for the first time with The Sergent. He died in California, USA.
