A British writer, born in St Leonards, England. He enrolled at Cambridge and started working on the committee of the Cambridge University Amateur Dramatic Club as a hiring manager in 1968. In 1982, he established the film production company Greenpoint Films. He wrote the scripts...Read more for many films and also participated in theater. He won several awards, such as the BAFTA TV Award and the Golden Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival. He married the French fashion designer Nicole Farhi. His credits include The Hours (2002) and The Reader (2008).
