An American screenwriter, director, producer, and attorney, born on May 23, 1977, in New Jersey, United States, to an English father and a Taiwanese mother. She graduated from Harvard Law School. Before selling her first script, she worked as an intern at the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, dealing with cases of domestic violence. She began her career as a writer with the ABC comedy-drama series Pushing Daisies in 2007, followed by the crime drama series Burn Notice in 2009. She made her breakthrough as a writer by co-creating the HBO sci-fi hit series Westworld. Her feature directorial debut is the sci-fi Reminiscence, starring Hugh Jackman, which is also written by her.
