She then appeared in the plays The Khan and Lights on Everyday Life. She left Iraq in late 1978, traveled to Yemen, then to Moscow, and completed her master’s degree and Ph.D. in theater criticism. She then traveled to Morocco, then to Canada, where she has lived since 1989.
