Alaa Hamdan was chosen as a member of the jury at several international film festivals after she won several awards as a director, including fourth place at the Dubai Cultural Festival in October 2015 for her short film Under Construction, an award at the Istanbul Tourism Film Festival in 2016 for her film While in Turkey, and an award at the SILA Film Festival in 2016 for her film While in London.
