American singer and actress. In 1962, she started performing opera at the Goldovsky Opera Theater. She signed a contract with the Metropolitan Opera National Company in 1964 after winning two significant singing contests. She performed in two national touring seasons with the company in 1965 and 1967. She continued to sing in opera throughout the 1970s as a leading soprano, most notably in Kiss Me, Kate (1968) and Summer and Smoke (1971), which had its world premier at the Minnesota Opera House. Later, in 1982, she recorded this performance for American television. After her initial Broadway debut, she moved to musical theater and maintained her theatrical performing career in musicals. She appeared for the first time in the film Jersey Girl (1992) and then appeared in the series Law & Order (1994). She became famous for the series (Mirrors) in 2008.
