A New Zealand actress, writer, and director. She attended Onslow College while growing up in Wellington. After attending the Wellington Performing Arts Centre to pursue contemporary dance, she graduated in 1998 with a degree in linguistics from Victoria University of Wellington. She wrote and produced plays for Wellington theaters and schools while she was a student. She relocated to Auckland in 1999 and began working on stage plays. She was a writer-in-residence at Ohio Northern University for a year. In 2006, she relocated to Australia and started producing short films. The Inland Road (2017), her debut feature film, had screenings at both the Seattle International Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival. Her most famous work is The Breaker Upperers (2018), which she co-wrote, directed, and starred in.
