Mary Beth Hughes was born as Mary Elizabeth Hughes in Alton, Illinois, USA on November 13, 1919 and died in Los Angeles, California, USA on August 27, 1995. Mary Beth Hughes had three marriages, all of which ended in divorce and had one child. Mary Beth Hughes is an American singer, stage, film, and television actress, best known for her low-profile B-movies. She was born in Illinois and her parents divorced while she was still an infant. And the divorce took place when she was 4 years old, when her mother took her to Washington, where she lived with her grandmother, the opera and drama star who worked with Ethel Barrymore on stage, and her grandmother prepared her to become an actress, and she practiced acting as a school child in the early thirties, and during her high school she practiced theater acting with Brooks Company and presented several plays, most notably Alice in Wonderland. After graduating in 1937, she continued to work with the theater company. The following year, she signed a contract with MGM to present 9 films in small roles. Her first films were The Covered Trailer 1939, Within the Law 1939, then Broadway Serenade. 1939 and The Women 1939. In the following year, she signed a contract with Fox to star in category B films, including The Great Profile 1940, opposite John Barrymore, John Payne and Ann Baxter, and with Don Amish she presented Four Sons 1940 and the comedy Western The Cowboy and the Blonde 1941 opposite George Montgomery. Fox ended her contract in 1943 to sing in nightclubs and made 3 films with Universal, then signed a contract with PRC and presented the drama The Lady Confesses 1945 and returned to Western films Rimfire 1949 and Grand Canyon 1949, and continued singing in nightclubs with her second husband, singer and actor, David Street. To work on television, and to participate in some films in the role of grandmother, and her last film was Tanya 1976, and she opened a beauty salon in Canoga Park in California, and closed it in the late eighties, and began working in the field of telemarketing until 1991, where she lived with her only son, until she died in 1995 At the age of 75 years.
