In 1932, she got married to Harry E. Edington, a Hollywood celebrity of the 1930s, and began to wind down her acting career. She ended her film career a few years later, retiring in 1935 at the age of 28. Kent then disappeared from public view and gave few interviews or press appearances. It took a long time for news of her death to reach the press, and her neighbors never knew she was a Hollywood actress and star.
