A Canadian film and stage actress, born in Gadsby, Alberta, Canada. She moved to California at the age of thirteen. She made her film debut in 1926 in Prowlers of the Night. She then played a young girl who falls in love in Flesh and the Devil, which brought her fame at the time. She took acting classes at the famous Universal Studios after winning the Miss Hollywood pageant in 1925 due to her outstanding beauty. In 1932, she got married to Harry E. Edington, a Hollywood celebrity of the 1930s, and began to wind down her acting career. She ended her film career a few years later, retiring in 1935 at the age of 28. Kent then disappeared from public view and gave few interviews or press appearances. It took a long time for news of her death to reach the press, and her neighbors never knew she was a Hollywood actress and star.
