An Algerian director, screenwriter, producer, and actor, born in the municipality of Beni Zeid. He then moved with his family to France in 1968 after studying the humanities. In 1999, he established the Sarrazink Productions Foundation. In 2001, he directed his first feature film Wesh wesh, qu'est-ce qui se passe, for which he won the Louis Deluc Prize and the Leo Chéroux Prize at the Belfort International Film Festival, which he produced with his own money. In 2006, Rabah returned to his hometown to film his second film Bled Number One, which won the Youth Award at the Cannes Film Festival in France. In 2008, he directed the film Dernier Maquis, which was selected at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. In May 2011, Rabah returned with his fourth film Les Chants de Mandrin. The film received the Prix Jean Vigo. In 2015, his fifth film, Histoire de Judas, was selected for the New Cinema Forum of the Berlin Film Festival and received the Jury Prize.
