American actor, born on May 7, 1892, in Menominee, Michigan, USA. He lived in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, was named "The Millionaires Extra," and was a member of high society in New York, London, and Paris. He was also a heavyweight amateur boxer. He specialised in drama but occasionally branched out into comedy, most notably in Chaplin's The Gold Rush (1925). In the silent era, he played minor roles, but as sound movies emerged, his roles shrank, and he frequently went uncredited. He is known for Kentucky Pride (1925), A Notorious Affair (1930), and Noah's Ark (1928). His last appearance in a film, which was uncredited, was in The Navy Comes Through (1942). He died on April 25, 1949, in Van Nuys, California, USA.
