American silent film actor, born on May 27, 1862, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He was a well-known stage actor from the 1880s and appeared in over 60 movies for the Lubin Manufacturing Company from 1911. He switched to the World Film Company in 1917, and the Betzwood Film Company in 1918. In comedies and dramas, he frequently played professionals or father figures. His debut was in His Chorus Girl Wife (1911). He is known for The College Widow (1915), The Beautiful Mrs. Reynolds (1918), and Annie Rowley's Fortune (1913). He died on June 9, 1924 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
