An American actor, born in San Francisco, California, USA as Edward William Firestone Jr. He married Mary Jean Sisich (1943-1949), and their marriage ended by divorce. His works include Barnaby Jones (1973-1977), Duel (1971), The Great Locomotive Chase (1956), and The Untouchables (1959). He began his career on radio at the age of 12 and later turned to film and television. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was discharged with the rank of captain. He attended Northwestern University. His first work was the series Mixed Doubles (1949), while his first movie was The Jackpot (1950). His last work was the series Dallas (1990). He died in Sherman Oaks, California, USA on March 1, 2007 from respiratory and heart failure.
