A Japanese actress and voice actress, born in Tokyo, Japan, to a father who works as a painter. She graduated from high school at Japan Women's University before working as an office manager. However, she preferred to become an actress, as director Ishirō Honda chose her to play the lead role in his classic film Gojira Gojira (1954), and she also appeared in Godzilla: King of the Monsters! (1956) and Happiness of Us Alone (1961).
