At the age of 15 his father handed him a script to produce, and when one of the actors was absent, he replaced him and enjoyed the work. Later he abandoned the production of comedy, and began performing in it. He became the most famous actor in films British films. His most important works are: Carry On Behind (1970), Carry On Columbus (1992), Carry On Laughing! (1975) and Carry On England (1976). He died of pneumonia at the age of 81.
