An American actor, born in Malden, Massachusetts, USA. Robert was married to Agnes Mary Josephine Mellon (1905-1944). They had a child, and she remained with him until her death. Robert's most important works include Yes, My Darling Daughter (1939), The Grapes of Wrath (1940), Border Justice (1924), and Night Monster (1942). He began his career in silent films after a long career on stage, and joined the sound era, continuing until the mid-1940s. He was a tough-faced American character, often appearing in films as law enforcement officers, judges, police officers, and lawyers. Robert died in Los Angeles, California, USA, of a heart attack at the age of 69. |
