An American film and television actor, born in Wauseon, Ohio, USA. Hal was married four times and had two children. His most notable works include The Lone Ranger (1949-1953), Arizona Frontier (1940), Sin's Pay Day (1932), and War Dogs (1942). Hal was a stage and bit-part actor in hundreds of Republic films during the 1940s and 1950s. He was also a vaudeville actor and bandleader. He provided roles of bartenders, mayors, shopkeepers, ranchers, and various hard-bitten town leaders. He presented The Red Mill on Broadway in 1945 and toured with the show throughout the country. He died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on April 15, 1964, of arteriosclerosis, at the age of 77.
