Neal of New Jersey in 1918 and became an American citizen. She participated in Broadway shows as a young woman in 1920. She continued to stage performances until 1937. She entered the movie industry and played the maid in her first comedy, My Dear Miss Aldrich (1937). She is known for Nancy Drew: Detective (1938), Wife, Husband and Friend (1939), and You Belong to Me (1941). She appeared in famous series as a guest, the last of which was The Partridge Family (1971). She died in 1971 at the age of 72.
