After performing military service, he moved to London, where he made his early appearance in the West End Theatre. In the early fifties, he presented his first television movie, Rush Job (1951). His first movie wasThe Whole Truth (1958), and his last movie was U-Turn (1973). His last appearance was the TV series The Chiffy Kids (1978). He devoted himself to writing and directing theatrical works. When his wife died in 1999, he retired from artistic work, and he died in 2005 at the age of 79.
