Grant trained as an actor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, after spending some time as a Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery. He made his stage...Read more debut in 1952, and appeared in various theatre and TV productions. His greatest success came with his role in On the Buses (1969-1973). Among his other known works are Mutiny on the Buses (1972), Holiday on the Buses (1973), and On the Buses (1971). He suffered from a depressive illness for several years and was found dead in his car, suffocated with carbon monoxide, on November 8th, 2003, in Gloucestershire, England.
