A Bulgarian poet, screenplay writer, playwright, and translator of paternal Jewish origin, born in Sofia. He graduated in medicine from Sofia University in 1944. He translated the complete works of Shakespeare. His most notable credits include Yo ho ho (1981), Slantzeto i syankata (1962), and The Fall (2006). He won the Lifetime Achievement Award and the UBFM Award at the Bulgarian Film Academy Awards in 1995 and 1982 respectively. |
