An American actor, director, screenwriter, and drama coach, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, on April 1, 1909, as Abner Warren Biberman. He got married three times and had four children. Among his most important works are His Girl Friday (1940), The Golden Mistress (1954),...Read more Gunga Din (1939), and Winchester '73 (1950). Abner Biberman worked in cinema, theater, and television. He gained acting experience while studying at the Tome School for Boys prep school, and then attended the University of Pennsylvania. Biberman was a short, thin character actor with an exotic appearance. He was able to play any role from a South Seas Islander, to an Indian bandit, to a Japanese military officer. He was also very active as a stage actor on Broadway, where he participated in 9 productions before relocating to Hollywood for film work. Because he was a seasoned pilot, he served as a flight instructor in the United States Army Air Forces during WWII. He resumed his career after the war as an actor in Hollywood, and then as a television director. Abner Biberman died at the age of 68 in San Diego, California, USA, on June 20, 1977.
