She was an English actress, born on October 15, 1892, in London, England, UK. She belonged to the Terry family's third generation of actors. She enjoyed early success in the classics, starring in several prominent Shakespearean roles. She spent four years in New York, performing in vaudeville and on Broadway. She went to school in Westgate-on-Sea and took singing lessons at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Her stage debut was in her parents' theater company. In 1915, she began her journey with silent cinema and joined the sound era, but intermittently. She is known for Boadicea (1927), Tense Moments with Great Authors (1922), and Trilby (1922). She received a Broadway's 1957 Tony Award nomination for Best Supporting or Featured Actress. She married twice and had no children. She died at the age of 84 on September 25, 1977, in London, England, UK.
