He gained his reputation by playing evil Indians and cold-blooded killers in Westerns. During the silent era, he worked for several film companies and appeared in several Three Stooges short films, and he joined the sound era. He died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, on July 8, 1968, of respiratory failure, at the age of 70.
