An American actress and singer, born in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA, as Eunice Fay McKenzie. She married twice and had a son and a daughter. Among her most important works are The Dramatic Life of Abraham Lincoln (1924), Sierra Sue (1941), Heart of the Rio Grande...Read more (1942), and The Party (1968). Fay McKenzie appeared in silent films as a child, then appeared in sound films as an adult, and she is best known for her leading roles opposite Gene Autry in the early 1940s in Westerns. She also worked in Broadway theaters, radio, and television. Her first appearance on the screen was in 1918 when she was 70 days old, and she continued to work until her death. Fay was born into a showbiz family. She attended Beverly Hills High School. When she was a teenager and appeared in a number of B Western movies. Her debut on Broadway was at the age of 17, and in the early 1940s, she started playing leading female roles. In the 1950s, she studied at the Actors Studio in New York City. During World War II, she appeared in dozens of USO shows. She died in Highland Park, Los Angeles, California, USA, on April 16, 2019, at the age of 101.
