Mohamed Ragab to portray Khaled Sa’ad

Artist Mohamed Ragab has begun reading the screenplay for the film “Iqalat al-Sha’b” (“Ousting of the People”). The events of the film take place between Cairo and Alexandria and place emphasis on victims of the Emergency Laws including the martyr Khaled Sa’ad. Events follow leading up to the popular movement formed in his name and its role in the revolution of the 25th of January. Ragab has expressed his preliminary acceptance for the work. The screenplay for the production was authored by Mohamed Samir Mabrook and filming is scheduled to begin after Ragab completes reading the screenplay and gives his final agreement as per a statement given by Mabrook.Mabrook has also stated that the family of Khaled Sa’eed consented to the screenplay before he began writing it and that performers have not yet been nominated for the remaining characters in the film. Moreover, a production company has expressed its enthusiasm for producing the title.Mohamed Ragab’s previous work was the film “Muhtarram ila Rob’” (“Respectable Less One Quarter”). The work saw him act alongside Rogina and Lamita Frangieh. That title was directed by Mohamed Hamdi and utilized a screenplay which was authored by Mohamed Samir Mabrook.
