Transforming "Qamar Ala Samarqand" into a television series with a budget of 40 million Egyptian pounds

After the success bestowed upon converting his novel "Yawm Ghaeim Fi Albar Algharby" to the series "Wady Almolouk" last Ramadan, the novelist Mohamed Almansy Qandil agreed to convert his novel of more importance "Qamar Ala Samarqand" to a new television series with a budget of 40 million Egyptian pounds, seeing as to how the settings of the novel were special and with most of it occurring abroad, specifically in the Uzbek city of "Samarqand".The novel was published by Dar Merit, and has achieved huge success in the literary circles. Its events revolve around a friendship that has developed between Ali, an Egyptian who went to Samarqand to look for an old friend of his dad's, and Nour Eldin, a Samarqandi taxi driver who accompanies him on his search. It gradually takes us on a journey through the history and present of that region, which has ruled the Islamic world for a long time.The scriptwriter Hany Fawzy will be preparing the script for the series, which will be directed by Mohamed Yassin. The actors have not been cast yet, left to be decided after the scenario has been written.
