A group of New York and New Jersey political activists protested on Saturday 4 February in front of Ritz Theater where Tamer Hosni had a concert there. The activists denied that the singer did not respect the mourning period in Egypt due to the Portsaid Massacre that resulted in the sad loss of 70 young men. The protesters carried a symbolic coffin for the martyrs and placed in front of the theater to express their refusal for the concert, and yelled many angry statements against the singer that did not pay any respect for the families or his country and said that he had to cancel his concert.Tamer had organized a tour celebrating the 1st anniversary of the 25 January revolution, which the protesters believe its inappropriate as there are more revolution martyrs now. According to activist Salma Abd El Majeed who placed the video of the protest on YouTube, Tamer had to flee in his car from the back entrance of the theater and was escorted with New Jersey Police to enter the theater from its front door.
