With video: First scenes from "The Master"

Director Paul Thomas Anderson has released footage of his film "The Master" during the "Film market" section of Cannes Film Festival, before the film's page was created on Youtube.The film portrays the personal trauma suffered by world war II soldiers, met by a genius scientist who tries to form a new religion.Joaquin Phoenix appears in the film in a very scary look as a soldier returning from war, which made many people suggest he would be nominated for the best supporting actor Oscar.The film is also starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams, set for release 12th of October.
